4WDs make others feel unsafe: survey

As you may be aware from previous posts, I detest Four-wheel-drive /SUVs on public roads. There has been a resonable amount of press on this in Australia over the last couple of years. The Age ran an opinion poll last year, with similar results to this survey.

4WDs make others feel unsafe: survey – National – www.theage.com.au:
“Four-wheel-drive owners are so arrogant and aggressive behind the wheel that 70 per cent of Australian motorists do not feel safe sharing the roads with them, a national survey reveals.

Almost half of the 1880 drivers surveyed want four-wheel-drives banished from city streets, while 39 per cent of four-wheel-drive owners acknowledged their vehicles were probably dangerous to other motorists.

Thirty per cent of four-wheel-drivers also admitted to talking on mobile phones without a hands-free kit compared to 17 per cent of other drivers, the survey for insurer AAMI found.”

Bush unfazed by ‘loving women’ gaffe

This guy is a moron. How could anyone vote for a guy that speaks like this:

“Too many good docs are getting out of business. Too many OB-GYNs aren’t able to practice their love with women all across this country.”

“I think you’ve got to make a choice. My opponent made his choice, and he put him on the ticket. I made my choice. I’m for medical liability reform now.”

Greens on the boil over attacks by Murdoch Media – Aussie Election 2004

Greens on the boil over attacks – Election 2004 – www.theage.com.au:
The Murdoch Press is at it again, this time blatanty publishing lies over the Greens policies. I am not a Green supporter – I’m backing Latham – but this article really demonstrates how John Hward, the Liberal party, and Murdoch’s media work to gether to keep honest John in power.
